Last week we had our first taste of hot summer weather. Did that deter us from our regular walking schedule? Not on your nelly!
And so ends our hot weather walkies! We hope you can get outside and enjoy your weather too, whatever it may bring!

Salmon berries come in 2 “varieties” when ripe. Some are red, some are golden in colour. They are juicy and slightly tart and completely delicious.

We took a longish walk yesterday morning before it got too hot. We wandered the hills and woods and ponds and creek, but no toes got wet.

I’m still wearing layered clothing. I’m surprised you hike in sandals! Do you have ticks up there or other things that bite?
Yes, there are some ticks. Bowser is on meds for ticks, fleas, and heartworm and I’m just on “thoughts and prayers” 😂. Bugs generally don’t like me and we have very few bitey bugs in our area to begin with. I like to walk in as minimal footwear as possible as it helps strengthen all my walking muscles. Thanks, Jean 💕
Rainy and cool here today so staying indoors mostly. We had a few (very few) nice days this week though and they were a joy!

Hot weather is a perfect time to walk near (or in) a creek, lake or any water that you can find. Beautiful pedicure!

It hasn’t gotten hot here yet (we are experiencing our typical June Gloom), but I imagine it’s only a matter of time. At least you don’t have to go hiking wearing a fur coat like Bowser. 🙂
