The Sunday Schnauzer – Walkies On A Hot Day

Last week we had our first taste of hot summer weather. Did that deter us from our regular walking schedule? Not on your nelly!

Bowser is ready to go.
And we’re off!
So many daisies to be seen.
Bowser and I enjoyed a couple of salmonberries, each.
We saw the occasional Columbia Lily blooming in the more forested parts of the trail.
Cooling off my dogs in the creek 😉.
Actual dog, cooling off in the creek 😄.
Back home again, and Bowser finishing off his al fresco breakfast.
Nap time!

And so ends our hot weather walkies! We hope you can get outside and enjoy your weather too, whatever it may bring!

Elbows Up,

The WB

  1. I’ve never heard of salmonberries. What do they taste like?
Love that Bowser takes his leash in his mouth and is ready to walk himself if his humans are too slow…
    ❤️

    1. Salmon berries come in 2 “varieties” when ripe. Some are red, some are golden in colour. They are juicy and slightly tart and completely delicious.
Bowser is a take-charge guy when it comes to walks. Thanks, Rivergirl 💕

  2. The Misadventures of Widowhood

I’m still wearing layered clothing. I’m surprised you hike in sandals! Do you have ticks up there or other things that bite?

    1. Yes, there are some ticks. Bowser is on meds for ticks, fleas, and heartworm and I’m just on “thoughts and prayers” 😂. Bugs generally don’t like me and we have very few bitey bugs in our area to begin with. I like to walk in as minimal footwear as possible as it helps strengthen all my walking muscles. Thanks, Jean 💕

Hi Deb – loved salmonberries when I was out on the Island. And as you say a great time for getting feet wet and cooling off – looks idyllic … we’re having that sort of weather here too. Cheers Hilary
