We had a pretty mild February, here on Vancouver Island.
Here are some of my favourite photos, from last month.
How every walk starts, on our street. The poop bag is never let go of, no matter how pressing any other business is. It’s hard for me to get front-facing shots of Bowser, because he likes to range ahead. So I snap one whenever I get the opportunity.I finally got to see the wild elk herd whose tracks I come across almost every day. Here they are – quite a distance away in a farmer’s field – across the creek from where we are on the trail.An action shot of Bowser, mid-gallop.Bowser – probably annoyed I called for him, mid-exploration. He looks and acts so much like my Levi did that it’s like I’m visiting him every Sunday. Does he allow you to cuddle? The closest thing to cuddling Levi would do is lean against my leg when I was at the computer. And he could not be bribed or otherwise to sleep with us. The only dog I ever had that was stand-offish when it came to affection.
My Lucy was pretty stand-offish…when she wanted to cuddle I knew it was time to go to the vet because she must be feeling ill! But Bowser is a real snuggle bug and likes to be petted constantly while drifting off to sleep, if you can believe it. Thank you very much, Jean 💕 for the lovely comment about visiting Levi every Sunday 🥰.
Great shots of Bowser! I love the action shot and the portrait shot too! Those elk are something else, I’m sure Bowser would love to go run with them 😂
He’s so adorable. We did lots of great walks in February too. Penny says we should try to top them on our walks in March. We’ll see. Great pictures of your boy!

The elk are gorgeous; I wonder if you ever hear them calling for the females? I think they call it a bugle?
