I urge everyone to use this day to broaden their knowledge about Indigenous peoples: their culture, struggles, and what they have had to endure since colonization.
This course – at University of Alberta – is online, free, self-paced and a great place to start:
Rock on,

That’s weird!
Yes, they’ve been through a lot. I once took a college course on Native Americans. They’ve been down quite a hard road since us Europeans arrived on the scene.
Yeah, that’s for sure. Thanks, TG
I started this course, but didn’t pass the first block. I have every intention of re-registering, so I can complete it.
I audited the course…did not take any testing on it. Some parts were very dry and hard to slog through (treaties) but others were very fascinating to me. Thanks, I hope you are able to go further
Such an important day. Thank you for this post, and the link. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Me too
Thanks for the link. This is on my list once the snow hits.
That’s a great idea, Bernie. Thanks
And I added it to my calendar to do list with a reminder
Hi Deb – I’ve read a few books, and seen a few films … seen in Canada, as too read since … I have them here to read again and learn from. It’s good they’re offering a course via the university … thanks for remembering – there’s so much to learn from them. All the best – Hilary
Yes, agreed. Thanks, Hilary
So very important. Thank you for sharing and making it known!
You’re welcome, Suz. Thanks
I did the course last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. made me recognize my privilege being a settler and my naivete to how our native peoples have been treated. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Thank you, Brenda
