The Sunday Schnauzer – Fall Colours #walktober

Nature has a more limited colour palette here in the west, than it does in the eastern part of Canada. But Bowser and I are appreciating every day, just the same.

Big Leaf Maple leaf.
I believe this is called toadflax. One of the few plants flowering at this time of year.
The odd bit of red comes from dying salal leaves.
It’s hard to get close-ups of Bowser as he is eager to trot ahead and explore.
Oh, looks like he finally remembered I am on this walk too 🤣.
Brilliant blue skies provide a great backdrop for the changing colours.
Bronzy ferns.
The rains mean return of puddles in all the ruts.
Still plenty of green to be seen.

We hope you are having a great and colourful weekend! This is my post for Change is Hard’s Walktober Challenge.

Rock on,

The WB

  1. Just beautiful! Here in the east the brilliant colours are nearing their end. Yesterday’s warm fall day will soon be forgotten by the snow forecast for tonight!

  2. More colour than here where it’s white! Love the maple leaf and the blue skies. We are in our dull grey skies time of year, so I needed your pop of blue.

  3. We have something blooming in the garden called monkshead that is kind of like your toadflax. It’s the only thing blooming now, and soon it will be gone when we get our first hard frost. I love it though, it’s a deep purple blue. I should take a picture and post about it.

I also love your fern shot! And of course Bowser. I am looking forward to the day Penny and I can walk in the woods without her being attached to me. I have to be patient, she’s only 10 months old.

I will attach this post to my Walktober wrap up!

      1. I don’t doubt it for a second. I did long daily walks with my Zeke until he was too old and finally passed. I do miss the guy. He kept me sane through so much.

          1. That’s lovely. My friend tried to convince me to get her dog’s brother but honestly, I’m not up for the training, the hair, the costs… Not yet, anyway!
            I won’t say a word 😉

Oh that gorgeous blue sky is providing such a perfect backdrop to your autumnal display. We’re still having a lot of rain which I am trying not to feel grumpy about, but fairly miserably. Having been shut inside for a week, I’m desperate to get outdoors – breathlessness be damned, I will stroll slowly and rest often.

Here's where the magic happens. I love comments!
