The Sunday Schnauzer – Dream On

I had some lovely company (my childhood-and-STILL friend and her sister) come to visit me recently, so I gave up my bed and the day bed to them and headed next door to sleep at my daughter and son-in-law’s place. Bowser was so excited that this was happening that he wouldn’t settle any longer in their bedroom, so his dog bed and his little self moved into the room I was occupying. He stayed in his bed all night, but in the morning it was a different story!

How can you get up and leave me Oma? I am irresistible, after all.
And, I am still sleepy.
I am so not ready to get up.
So, you’re really gonna leave me?!?! The nerve!

Once Bowser determined I was absolutely not going to rejoin him in the bed, he quickly changed tactics and followed me over to my house…no doubt hoping some of our breakfast would be dropped in his general direction. Dream on, Bowser. Dream on.

Rock and dream on,

The WB

    1. Thank you, Natalie 💕 I’m having trouble commenting on some blogs and I think yours might be one of them. Can you check and see if I am in “spam jail”, please?

  1. Oh, so sweet! Penny is not a morning dog either, and would sleep well into any morning, but if she figures out I’m up for the day she will grudgingly follow me out to the kitchen for her breakfast.

    1. My late Lucy was very much a morning dog and many the morning I wished she was more of a slug-a-bed, like Bowser. Especially those cold and stormy mornings…or when I was under the weather. I really appreciate Bowser’s leisurely approach to each day 😉. Thanks, Dawn 💕

Hi Deb – he really is too much of a charmer … just knows which side of the bread his life is buttered! Lucky Bowser – cheers Hilary

    1. Oh, plenty of things are falling for Bowser whenever I am in the kitchen😁. Not to worry. And, if I am having eggs, I always cook an extra one for my always-hungry buddy. Thanks, Kate 💕

    1. Bowser is happiest and most content when all 3 of us are in the same space. I think he has such a tight bond with me as I looked after him (as a wee pup) during the day when his parents went out to work. Thanks, Tracey 💕

      1. 2 (was a 3rd, but he just died) ginormous and 1 just big one. But big or little dogs don’t do furniture in our house. Our friends will only visit outside because their dog can’t sit on the couch or at the table with them. Hard no here.

  3. A sleepover with Oma is just too wonderful to ignore. How fun to have longtime friends visit; hopefully you’ll share some of that with us too. ❤️❤️

    1. We packed so much into the few days they were with me, there was little time to think of taking pics. Plus my friends are a bit camera-shy and I respect that. But CJ saw enough of the island (especially the west coast) that she vows she is coming back with her RV and taking us both for an extended exploration! Thanks, Suz 💕

    1. Not this particular morning, but yes they do land on other ones 😉. I’ve been known to throw an extra egg in the frying pan for a certain someone, who has become my patient audience whenever I am in the kitchen as a result 🤣. Thanks, Ally 💕

    1. I am having so many problems with WordPress lately too, Janis! I am no longer getting email notifications from blogs I’ve signed up for…and when I go to resubscribe I am not allowed because I am already subscribed….my comments are going straight to spam jail on a few blogs now…and I was just told yesterday that at least one subscriber hasn’t received any email notifications of my new posts all summer…WTF is going on?!?!?! Thanks for persevering, my friend 💕

He just wanted you to feel properly at home, I’m sure there was no sneaky intent on his part! 😀 I hope you’ve had a fantastic visit with your childhood friend – how wonderful to hear that the friendship is still going strong – nice work Deb.
