The Sunday Schnauzer – Where’s His Head?

It’s been unseasonably hot here on the island this past week. Bowser and I retreat to the coolest, darkest room in the house during the heat of midday, when there is little shade to be found outside.

Where did his head go???? (Bettie Page the Kitchen Aid is on the floor because I had to clear off the counters so my kitchen backsplash could be FINALLY installed. Still no baseboards. Another project for another day…)
Wait, are those whiskers I spy?
Yep. There’s his head. Bowser likes to hang it off of the bed when he sleeps. Weirdo.
I always rest easier when his head is firmly placed on the day bed. Mommy is taking him to the groomer next week for a long awaited doggy spa day. Hoorah!

We hope you are beating the heat (if it’s hot where you are) and staying warm (if it’s not). Enjoy the long weekend if you’re lucky enough to be having one. We are.

Rock on,

The WB

  1. I often think, ‘where’s his head?’, but not for a doggie and in an entirely different context 😆

It’s not hot here … or even particularly warm … but I’m on board for afternoon naps. Doze on little Bowser. Doze on!

  2. It’s darn cold where I am. I just got back from 5 nights camping in a tent in a park up north. Luckily the site had electrical. Even luckier was that I took an electric blanket. Otherwise it would have been a one night trip. Temps got down to the low 30s at night. I was never warm all 5 days or nights. But I was sort of OK under the heated blanket! My puppy likes to sleep upside down too, but she doesn’t know she’s big enough now to jump up on the sofa or bed. So she hasn’t tried. Maybe I’ll show her how some day!

    1. Oh dear! I’ve camped in the cold and the nights especially can be very long. I’m sure the pup will figure out the couch/bed thing soon! Thanks, Dawn 💕

I’m missing that incredibly cute countenance today! 🙁 Guess I’ll wait for the post-spa glamour shots.😎😉

  4. Summer is here. I don’t blame you guys for hiding in the coolness of your coldest spot! Peanut loves to let her big head hang low too..it seems weird, but then again, they are the weirdos. 😉

Hi Deb – it’s been ‘freezing’ here – very cold northerly wind – exceedingly unpleasant! Good heavens what have we moved into camping with ‘an electric (travel) blanket’ – I too wouldn’t have gone in that weather! Extraordinary snippet of laughable, but so sensible, addition to the camping packing! Bowser – is exceedingly lucky … though I think an update to next year’s spa day is due – a little earlier! Cheers and enjoy the holiday – we have another next weekend … enjoy – Hilary

    1. I can’t wait for Bowser’s spa day…he is one shaggy mess right now! Our weather has just turned cool again…much easier to work in the garden now. An electric travel blanket sounds very sensible to me! Hopefully your weather warms up. Thanks, Hilary 💕

Oooooh I love the colour of Betty Page the Kitchen Aid 🙂 Bowz looks his usual adorable self too. And yippee for the splashbacks – look forward to seeing a pic when they’re all in.

  7. Our dogs have been done that, but it seems they aren’t allowed on furniture or beds they don’t know it’s a thing. Dogs can be such contortionists when they sleep!! Bernie
