I recently came back from a 3 week winter vacation (more about that at some point…) and my reunion with family was joyous. However, I did notice that Bowser was a bit more…um…substantial than when I left.
In Bowser’s defense, the island experienced ALL THE WEATHER while I was away. Snow storms, atmospheric rivers, and wind storms. Which made for less than ideal dog walking conditions.
There is only one cure for our Bowser’s chonkiness.
We hope you are having a great weekend, and are able to enjoy the great outdoors (and keep the winter chonkies at bay 😉).
Rock on,
The WB
That’s a cute dog! He looks pretty fit to me
We have a dog that’s far too chunky and we call him piglet
Bowser has definitely put on some weight around his chest and middle. His ribs are harder to feel than before I went away. He is really fit though…I can’t wear him out! Thanks, Alison 💕
Chonky you say? I say full-figured and adorable.
Bowser says he likes the way you think! 😁 Thanks, Ally 💕
I feel you Bowser, winters are long and I feel a bit chonky myself.
😉
It’s a problem a lot of us have 😉. Thanks, Rivergirl 💕
Does the 10,000 steps per day work for dogs
When we go walking, Bowsers does 10 steps for every one of mine – with all his side jaunts and exploring…so I’d say yes! Thanks, Sheree 💕

Wow! All the weather! Well, at least you missed it. I wonder if little boots will help with his cold paws? I hope your vacation was delightful!
If we had more snow and icy weather, the boots would be something to look into. I’m not sure Bowser would wear them, though. I had a snowsuit for a previous dog and she refused to walk in it. Would just stare me down while standing stock still and stiff-legged until I peeled it back off of her. Schnauzers are extremely stubborn dogs 🤣. Thanks, Suz 💕
Wow all that storm damage really put a cramp in your walking 🫤 And Bowser, I completely understand a little chonkiness with all the winter weather 😉 Now that Oma is home you can get back to your regular walks ❤
We are back in business, and Bowser is loving it! (Me too) Thanks, Sharon 💕
He’ll run the extra weight off in no time at all with you back. How did he act when you got back? Was he over the moon or give you the silent treatment first to punish you for leaving? Oops, he’s not a cat so I’m guessing it was the former.
My daughter brought him to the ferry to pick me up, and after the initial greeting excitement (leaping and twisting around my legs) he just melted into my arms for the short ride home 😍. Thanks, Jean 💕
Chonky…is it the dog version of chunky? Crazy weather everywhere.
That is for sure, Bernie! Crazy, crazy weather. Thanks 💕
He missed his Oma!
That’s what I’ve been told! Thanks, Kate 💕
Looks like Bowser is already shedding his extra winter fluff. With wonderful walks like those, how can he not? We got back to the island late last night. I look forward to catching up with you whenever you are free. (Today is lazy day. I’m still in my PJs). <3
I’m having a lazy day too! I knew you got home and thought I’d let you settle in a bit. TTYL! Thanks, Donna 💕
When my son leaves his dog with us, she comes back at least 3 pounds heavier. When we leave our dog with him, she comes back at least 3 pounds lighter. There’s balance in the universe after all.
😂 love the balanced universe, Kieran! Thanks 💕
