The Sunday Schnauzer – I Helps

Oma is building a new bed for her den bedroom.

Oma says to ignore the big X through the “build it alone” cartoon. Where is the dog helper in these instructions, I wonders…
Are you trying to read something, Oma?
Hmmm, I needs to read this too.
Deep in doggy thought…
Oma won’t stop working even when I know it’s time for a break.
Finally! Oma joins me on the couch after bed frame is completed.
I try to sit on Oma’s head to get more comfy. Oma gets up after this and starts building the drawers for the bed.
I supervises the drawer building.
Oma has the drawer building mastered by Drawer 2, so I moves on to other projects.
New bed is complete.
Oma did a good job, with my help of course.
We deserve another rest.

I get to do this again when Oma’s desk comes (in boxes). Yippee!!!

I hope you are having a good weekend and maybe helping too.

Rock on,

The Bowz 🐾

Hi Bowser – yes it’s hard work building things from boxes … but looks to be amusing with you around – I’m just glad you can read, and realise when one worker is enough and you can enjoy other projects … fun to see – thank you – enjoy an early Halloween – cheers Hilary

    1. That duvet cover set was an Amazon find from a few years back. I didn’t have high hopes for the quality but the price was right and I loved the design…and whaddayouknow, it has held up through multiple washings beautifully! Thanks, Rivergirl 💕

    1. It’s a good thing he’s cute…is all I’m saying 😉. As to mastering flat packs, if you mean chewing up the cardboard boxes they come in, yup! He’s mastered that 🤣. Thanks, Sheree 💕

    1. Thanks, Jean 💕 I picked up that bed on Facebook Marketplace. It’s a little beat up but I plan to paint it someday so I didn’t care. Yes, Bowser is the best accessory!

    1. 🤣 I’ve spent way too much money fixing my teeth, to undo that work by chewing on cardboard. With Bowser around, I might retire my paper shredder. He does good work on mail too 🤦‍♀️. Thanks, Joanne 💕

    1. I’ll fess up. I am Bowser’s editor 😉. As to who was in charge of the build, well…Bowser liked to think he was supervisor but I managed to figure it out on my own 😁. Thanks 💕

    1. Thank you, Tracey 💕. It IS progressing, I have to keep reminding myself. It feels like I’ve been moving in forever at this stage. The bedding is an Amazon purchase from several years ago.

    1. It took me (Bowser was more of a hindrance than a help, no matter what HE says😉) about 4 hours to build this bed including 4 drawers but not including rest breaks. Thanks, Ann 💕

  2. I see he found your shoes again! Oh, what a sweet helper he is.
The bed looks amazing and kudos to you; you did the job of TWO humans!

  3. Joyce

Good job Bowzer!!! What a good helper you are. (Sending you ear scritches for being such a good puppy)
I’m glad Oma has you to help build furniture and to tell her when it’s time to rest, but please … no sitting on her head 😂
BTW … I see you are a fan of Drag Race as well 😊
Aunt Joyce sure wishes I could see you and give you scritches and cuddles for real!! I love you Bowz 💕🐾💕

  4. Oh Bowz, you and Oma did a great job with the bed assembly! Do you do contract work? I’ve been assembling things I never thought could even come in a box, and completely ignoring cartoons, diagrams, and sometimes words (though not on purpose).

I remember my cats “helping” too. Fortunately, they were most interested in playing inside the cardboard boxes rather than wending their way around my ankles, for which I was enormously grateful. Nice work Deb! I’ve yet to succeed in getting any bedframe together without another pair of (human) hands 😉

    1. Oh, the things I’ve built that should have taken 2 people! You’d be amazed at what you can do when you employ other props in lieu of a second set of hands. Thanks, Debs 💕
