My sister from Ontario is here on Vancouver Island, visiting for 2 weeks. Last weekend we spent a delightful 2 nights in Tofino. Here are some pictures from our stay. Hope you enjoy! (We sure did!)

Lovely pictures! We were supposed to go to Vancouver and Vancouver Island last year…of course that never happened. I’ll just see Vancouver Island through your posts instead!
It’s going on the agenda: “Slurp oysters with Joanne!” The next adventure starts in a few hours when we head to Campbell River for the all-day grizzly bear tour tomorrow. Thanks, Joanne 💕
YAY for a lovely visit and vacation. The scenery is STUNNING. The river otters are adorable and yes, I noticed that they are quite large too. Whales are so mesmerizing, I get it that you didn’t think to pull out your camera, so kudos to living in the moment.
Awesome photos, Deb. The joy shines right through. I’m looking forward to adding to these photos tomorrow (yay, I’m still a tad nervous — but I’ll get over it) ! 😀
Your pictures make me want to get in our car and head back to Vancouver Island. I’m so happy that you get to spend two whole weeks with your sister; it sounds like you’ve got quite a few adventures planned. I hope you see lots of bears (not up too close, though). When we were in Vancouver last week, we happened to see an otter crossing the walkway. I was so surprised at how different they look out of the water… not nearly so cuddly.
I’ve read that the otters in Vancouver like to raid people’s koi ponds. Gotta be easier eating than trying to catch a salmon in rough seas! 😉😉 Thank you, Janis 💕
Absolutely stunning photos!!
I especially love the boots one and the ones showcasing both of my beautiful sisters!
💕💕
The oceans shots were magnificent! I almost felt like I was right there looking at it and smelling the ocean and hearing the waves.
❤️
Love the trees and the whale watching trip but most importantly that you and your sister had some quality time. That’s the outstanding part of the post. Not every set of siblings have that kind of relationship. Glad you do.
Thank you, Bernie 💕 Yes, I am always happy to spend time with my sisters when I can. We are many miles apart, which makes our together times rare and something to be treasured. And probably helps with us actually wanting to spend time with each other 🤣.
Thank you, Suzanne 💕 Another walker on the trail that day taught us to lean right against the tree with the camera and shoot upwards – now why didn’t I ever think of that??? 😁
It looks like you had such a good time, and adventure! I love the image of your sister with the tree. I love the scale of size it showed. The views from the boat were lovely too.
Thank you, Debs 💕 I’ve heard them called wellies here also…but mostly people I know just call them rain boots or muck boots. That IS a wonderful piece of driftwood, for sure!

Hopefully you can come another time! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy! Thank you 💕
Wow! So good to get together with family, and then look at the amazing places you saw!!
Thank you, Dawn 💕 It IS good to get together with family!
Those trees and river otters!! Also that wig!! Haha!
That Joe Dirt wig made us laugh! Those are sea otters….much bigger than river otters but just as cute. Thanks, Tracey 💕
Such amazing adventures! Everything is so clean.
Thank you, Kate 💕 Still lots of unspoiled places here on the island. Hope it stays that way 🤞
Me too. It’s harder to find unspoiled shorelines on the east coast.
💗
🙏💕
Sister Time!!! ❤️❤️
You had my complete attention at ‘slurping oysters’. Why, pray tell, have we never slurped oysters?? An omission that one day must be rectified!
Hope you are rested up now and ready to have fun on your next adventure!

What a glorious place you live. Love that giant driftwood.. and the rainforest trail calms me.
Thank you, Rivergirl 💕 Being in the rainforest calms me too. If I could bottle this, I would probably be able to throw out my blood pressure meds 😉.
Beautiful photos. Vancouver Island seems to have no shortage of great scenery.
Thank you, TG 💕 It’s hard to find an ugly view here, outside of cities and suburbia that is.
Looks like you & your sister are having a wonderful time together! We loved the rainforest trail, nature is so incredible, isn’t it?
Nature IS so incredible – you are so right, Lynn! Thanks 💕, we are having the best time!

They are large because they are sea otters – about 4 times the size of their river cousins! Thanks, Suz💕
A Tuna contest …wow that sounds like so much fun. Thanks for sharing Deb.
Leslie
It was so much fun! Thanks, Leslie 💕

Thanks, Donna 💕 Just remember: having the customers of a bear tour eaten by grizzlies is a bad business model 😉😁 so we should be fine!

Thank you, Sister Dear 💕 Wish you were here with us!!! 🥰

Awesome perspective on that giant cedar and a great way to spend time with your sister.

We have been having such a good time! Thank you, Deborah 💕
Great colours on your waterproof boots. We call them wellies (short for wellingtons) here in the UK, what do you call them in Canada?
That’s quite some piece of driftwood – it would’ve driven my mother crazy being too large & heavy to move, for it’s a great shape.
