Taking photographs of water never gets old for me. It moves, it reflects, it attracts wildlife.
It is never the same twice. You can take a photo a day or an hour of a pond, lake or river and it will always be different from the one before.
Summer finds me near water, as I mentioned here, and with my camera or camera phone always handy. Here are some of my favourite shots taken, of water (that haven’t made it to Ye Olde Blogge as yet).
Looking back at San Francisco. Love the long shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge.
This summer no doubt I will be filling up my camera with yet more water scenes. Can’t wait!
What are your favourite subjects for photography?
Rock on,

Can you guess my theme for this year’s A-Z Challenge? All of my A-Z posts this month will be tied into my theme, which is represented by the title of a song that was popular when I was a child. Can you figure it out as the days (and posts) go by? Leave your guesses (one per day only, please) in the comments. At the end of the challenge, I will reveal the theme. Have fun!
Beautiful water photos, Deb. I’d be happy to be sitting or walking near any one of them. Personally, I like photos of water and of trees.
Thanks Karen!
Those photos are stunning! Especially the first one with the mist in the background. I love taking pictures from mountain peaks. My sister asked me once “Why is there a statue of my sister on top of every mountain in Virginia?” Ha, I love the view from high up. Can’t wait to see what “X” will bring. You’ve done a great job so far, it’s been fun following you.
Thank you Karen! I love the first photo too – it’s also my desktop background on my home computer. I plan to paint it someday.
These are gorgeous!
According to my phone history my favourite thing to photograph is my cats 😹 but in general I love to photograph anything that makes me smile. Plants, sunsets, funny graffiti, friends, whatever. If I lived closer to my family my phone would be full of photos of my nephew. 😊
Thank you Caitlin!
You have some lovely shots here. Foggy mornings are great for getting moody pictures. My husband was the landscape photographer in our family and I have always enjoyed taking photos of people the best.
Thank you Jean!
Beautiful, Deb. Water, mist on the water, sunlight and shadows reflecting on the water, moving water, still water, …. it’s all beautiful! 💕
Thank you Joanne! Agreed.
I feel the same way about water – I can photograph it endlessly. I wonder how much of that is because being around water just makes me feel good.
I know I am drawn to water Sarah, and it sounds like you are the same! All those negative ions released by running water or some such thing…
Love the pictures. I take the Staten Island Ferry every day to work, so I get lots of pictures of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. My company is a block from the Hudson, so I get lots of pictures of the river, and ocean liners that dock nearby along with great sunsets, which I have to say are pretty awesome.
I’ll bet! Thanks for commenting, Don!
Very beautiful. Water has a strong pull on me too.
Thanks Hetty!
Your water photos are great. And varied, which I suspect demonstrates how much you like photographing water. You understand it. I Iike to photograph trees or flowers or butteflies– but never people. Go with what works, eh?
Photos are always better when the photographer is interested in the subject – I agree, Ally!
