O is for Open-Toed Shoes #AtoZChallenge

In the warm weather, I like to wear open-toed shoes. I include sandals in this grouping.

I also really like shoes, and boots.

I decided to take a picture of my open-toed shoe collection today, since it is freezing rain out as I am creating this post, and the furthest thing from open-toed shoe weather as imaginable. As one does.

The whole open-toed shoe-bang, I think. I might be missing a couple of pair of flip-flops.
Top level – dressier
Bottom level – more casual

I get the feeling my staff think I own too many shoes. Whenever a package is delivered to me at the office, they hand it to me and say “Shoes?” Ditto if they see me at my computer with my credit card out. “Buying shoes?”

I didn’t buy these all in one season, you know!

What about you? How many pairs of open-toed shoes do you own?

Rock on,

The WB

Can you guess my theme for this year’s A-Z Challenge? All of my A-Z posts this month will be tied into my theme, which is represented by the title of a song that was popular when I was a child. Can you figure it out as the days (and posts) go by? Leave your guesses (one per day only, please) in the comments. At the end of the challenge, I will reveal the theme. Have fun!

  1. I have four pairs of open-toed shoes, Deb, which is one-third, maybe one-quarter of your collection. I especially like my colourful ECCO sandals, but I have to generally admit to being a bit of an aberration in the category of “women who love shoes.” I do not like shoes and especially detest shopping for them. Fortunately, I’ve found a shoe store where I seem to have success so I don’t have to go barefoot!

Have a great day. Close your eyes to the snow. Do you believe this??

    1. I feel you Karen – being an aberration in the category of “women who love chocolate” (Not a big fan, and will go to great lengths to avoid most desserts containing chocolate. I like it only in tiny doses, balanced by copious amounts of vanilla ice cream. Shocking, I know).

Closing my eyes to the snow, for sure. Weekend temps predicted to be in the double digits, so hopefully we can open our eyes again by then. You have a great day as well.

  2. Shoes!!! Now we’re talking my language!

I’m not sure how it happens, but they tend to accumulate in spite of my best efforts to keep them under a reasonable number. I just came home from a weekend of shopping with 4 new pairs – 3 of which are open-toed. I am ready to put the boots away!!

    1. Ahhh, a girl after my own heart! Have you ever felt to need to go on a shoe moratorium? I have, and I did well too. But of course, boots didn’t count. It’s on the blog somewhere…

      1. Not so much a moratorium as simply running cold because I don’t like the styles.
Since I stopped working, the siren call of shoes isn’t quite as overwhelming as it used to be – at least dress shoes anyway. I think I have at least 3 pairs of boots just for hiking, 3 pairs of golf shoes, 2 pairs of cycling shoes, 2 pairs of water shoes – not counting the flippers, ….

  3. I have about ten or so, my husband thinks I have an obsession with shoes. If you’re a man you need brown, black, tennis shoes and maybe hiking boots. If you’re a woman you need/want different colors and different styles to fit your different moods. I am unapologetic for my shoes – ask me how many guitars my husband has.

  4. Caitlin

I always say if you use ‘em and have room to store ‘em it’s just the right amount of shoes! 👠👡👢👞👟

Hm. . Because I always thought my toes were ugly, I only bought one pair of open toe shoes. Now when I wear them I get lots of compliments including my own boyfriend. So I guess it might be time to buy some more.
    😁

  6. I don’t know how many open-toed shoes I own, but quite a few. When I hear the term open-toed I think of a friend who worked in a company where she wasn’t allowed to wear them because of “toe cleavage.” Too risqué.

Open toe shoes and sandals are not my thing. Now, if you asked me how many pair of Crocs I have I’d have to fess up to owning ten pair.

  8. I need to up my Birkenstocks game. I only have two pair, but you have inspired me to add more.

Your theme is clearly about summer, but I have no idea what song. I love it either way.

    1. I wear my Birks year round. Outdoors in warm weather, and as “house slippers” year round – not a barefoot or sock feet person. I imagine my footwear in retirement will consist solely (😜) of Birks, hiking boots and Doc Martens. 🤣

Here's where the magic happens. I love comments!
