No worries about Bowser – he’s fine! It was me that was down for the count this past week with a brief but impactful stomach bug. No Canada Day celebrations for this girlie. I needed to stay close to home and to the…uh… facilities, at all times.
Bowser, who hasn’t gotten up beside me on the couch for months and months, decided he would join me while I was dozing napping recuperating.

Do dogs know when you need extra comforting? Or was this a happy coincidence?

He’s been like a little shadow even more than usual lately. Only going back to his place or outside when I am outside or when Mommy and Daddy come home from work. And even then he comes back to check on me.

Happily (for both of us), I’ve made a full recovery and we are out on the trails again!
We hope you have a safe and healthy weekend! Happy July 4th to my American friends!
Rock on, and elbows up!

I think dogs do sense when we’re under the weather.
I agree. They are very attuned to these sorts of things. Thanks, Sheree 💕
Yes, I think dogs (and some cats) know when their person needs some extra love.
Yes! That has been my experience but sometimes I wonder if I’m reading too much into their behaviours. Thanks, Dawn 💕
You couldn’t ask for a cuter nurse.
Hope the bug has passed and you’re feeling better.
No blankets needed here, it was horribly hot.
Thank you, Rivergirl 💕. I hope your extreme heat has passed!
Not yet…
😓
Glad you’re back on track. I hate any sort of summer sickness. Not a time to be sick.
No, not the time to be sick! As if there ever is a good time 😉. But it seems especially unfair when the weather is nice. Not only did I miss out on Canada Day but it is also my daughter’s birthday! Thanks, Kate 💕
Sending you love – I’m glad you’re on the mend. Our pets are the best medicine, aren’t they?
They sure are. Thank you very much, Kari 💕
Hi, Deb – I am so sorry to hear that you were sick, especially on Jemma’s birthday and Canada Day. I 100% agree that dogs do sense when we are unwell and can alter their behavior to offer comfort just as Bowser did by remaining by your side. No better nurse ever! I am glad that you are recuperated and back on that both of you are back on the trails. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Thank you very much, Donna 💕 Looking forward to seeing you soon again too!
I’m happy to read you’re feeling much better! Happy trails!!
Thank you very much, Deborah! 💕
