She went away to see her friend Joanne (formerly of My Life Lived Full) in Toronto and then to meet her friend CJ and go to another island – Barbados – to read and relax in the sun and swim in the ocean. I don’t understand – she can do all these things RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. Well, except for seeing those friends.
Anyhow, she wants me to share some of her photos before we get to the star of this here show – ME!
Enjoying winter from the inside of Joanne’s sauna.Enjoying winter from the outside of Joanne’s sauna too!
After experiencing a couple of snowstorms (just so she remembers what winter in Ontario can be like 😏), Oma said goodby to Joanne and boarded another plane to head down to the island of Barbados with CJ.
Are you even in Barbados if you are not enjoying a frosty Banks beer on your first night there? Oma thinks not.Back to the morning routine of Oma walking the boardwalk and watching the sunrise. If you get up early enough and there’s a full moon, you can watch it set. Every night (just about), there’s a glorious sunset to enjoy.Sometimes the colours are magnificent post-sundown.
Oma came back to wonderful weather here on Vancouver Island. Warm (13C) and sunny! Unusual for early February.
I convinced Oma to throw a ballie with me after our trail walk. But I don’t make it easy for her!I stand guard over the ballie and grab it and run with it when she gets close. Oma is smart though, and throws other ballies so she can collect my favourite when I run after them. I got hot and tired so I retreated to the cool ivy with my favourite ballie, to rest a bit before I convince Oma to keep playing this game.
Oma is back and all is right in Bowser World again!
I love, love, love everything about this post and especially the photos, Deb. Sooo nice to see Joanne’s lovely smile, again. Oh, ya … Bowser is pretty cute, too. Thank you for sharing. 💕 Erica
Well, if I couldn’t go along to Barbados, looking at your pictures was the next best thing. I can’t imagine being warm right now! Bowser looks wonderful as always. So does Oma!
Hi Bowser – she owes you a few extra throws … with some treats in between – welcome her back, but remember to remind her what she missed while she was away!! Cheers to you and herself! Hilary
Gorgeous pics from Barbados, you do know how to spoil your regular readers. Your Toronto visit also looks lovely (I really like the look of snow, just can’t cope with living in it!) Welcome back & good to see the Bowz being back to his happy self with his favourite walking buddy 🙂
Someone is pleased to see you!
He really is! Thanks, Sheree 💕
You’re a lucky pooch Bowser. With stunning sunsets like that, some other grandmothers wouldn’t have come back!
It was tempting, but I’d miss that furry face (amongst other less furry ones!). Thanks, Rivergirl 💕

Thank you very much, Kate 💕 I understand the difficulty in imagining warmth after starting my vacation with several days in Toronto 🥶.
So nice to see Joanne here. Thanks for explaining the snow pic in the sleeveless top.
The snow felt refreshing falling on my skin, coming out of that sauna! Thanks, Suzanne 💕
Beautiful! I loved every shot!
Thank you, my friend 💕
Looks like you had an awesome trip! Did you hit that crazy big snowstorm they got in Ontario? Barbados looks fabulous!
There have been a few snowstorms so not sure which one was the “big one” but I was there for 2 of them! Thanks, Bernie 💕
I really enjoyed seeing pictures of your trip on Instagram!
It looks like puppers is glad Oma is home. 💜
Thank you, Kari! 💕
Poster quality photos of the island! I envy the warm weather your person experienced on her vacation. Glad your little ball trick doesn’t fool her.

Thank you very much, Jean 💕
It’s good to see you and Oma back!💕 Her pictures are gorgeous but please ask her to stop tormenting those of us stuck in the tyrant’s deep freezer. 😐
OK, Bobi – I’ll let Oma know. I think she’s already shown her all her best pictures anyways! – Bowser 🐾
Thank you 💕
