I was doom scrolling through Threads the other day…
And I happened upon a person complaining (rightfully so, IMHO) that someone had commented on one of this person’s posts that they absolutely hated seeing this person’s dog’s rear end in all her photos and why can’t she just share pictures of the beautiful scenery instead sans doggy butt. Naturally I ran – nay – bolted to the Comments section to see what was being said. As one does.
There were more than a few photos of various doggy butts being shared (all cute, in case you were wondering) and someone also commented on walking their dog and the joy of seeing not only their dog’s butt but the flopping, bouncy ears too!
Cue post inspiration…

Well, having shot many thousand doggy faces and behinds i have to say it depends on the doggy in question. Some just have the cutest behinds. Also, I have to say that often a dog from behind is doing it’s natural doggy thing which can be way more interesting than just another image of a doggie sitting impatiently in front of something waiting to be released to continue doing it’s doggie thing, you know? But having said that, doggie faces are absolutely the cutest, and if you have bouncing ears too, then you’re in photographer’s heaven.

I’m going to butt out of this controversy. Butt I will say that I don’t mind seeing the dog’s butt. Just don’t show the landmines he leaves behind.

So true! When I have a strong reaction to something I see or hear I usually have to ask myself what is it about ME that is provoking such a response? I have cats. Two thirds of all pictures are butts or tails and most blurry. Gotta love butts (as long as there are not dingleberries dangling!).

Honestly, what is wrong with some people? Doubtless there are less than attractive doggie butts, but no-one’s being forced to look. I’m in team Doggie (and Kitty) butts are cute, and Bowzer is top of the cute butt class 🙂
