The Sunday Schnauzer – April Showers

The Easter weekend was mostly a rainy one. But we didn’t let that stop us!

Bowser is off and running, leash in mouth.

Bowser says: Try and keep up, Oma!

The trails were…ahem…a delight. 😉

Bowser was not the only one getting soaked.

Home again, and ready to dry off and put the kettle on!

We hope you are staying dry and cozy, no matter the weather!

Rock on,

The WB

p.s. I just upgraded to the newest version of WordPress and now my images don’t seem to allow captioning anymore. 😩

  1. There should still be a “classic block” you can select within the theme and draft. This allows you to add photos like you did in the past, including the captioning. It’s what I do with my Hemingway theme. Ever since I upgraded. I create the blog post in the new blocks and then add classic blocks for my photos. Not sure if it would work the same with your theme.

Are those matching raincoats? Asking for a friend.

I couldn’t add a caption, either, and then all of the sudden I could. I have no idea how it happened.

    1. Wonder of wonder; miracle of miracles – I found the migration to the Jetpack app seamless. It’s gotta be that way once in a while, right? 😉 Thanks, Rivergirl 💕 I think what he does with the leash is adorable and it always makes me smile.

  3. I noticed the same thing about the captions, Deb. I think they actually are there, but you sort of have to play with the block a bit (i.e. click in/out of it), and the caption at the bottom eventually appears. They’re not helping with all of these “improvements!” – Marty

  4. Rain, rain, go away. Our phones just notified us that there are tornado warnings in our area and we should ‘shelter in place.’ Wonderful! Could be worse. We could live in Ft. Lauderdale. Looks like you and Bowser coordinated your rain gear. Can’t help with the captions. Did you create the post on Jetpack? or on a laptop?

    1. I created it on my laptop. Hoping the problem has resolved itself by now (yes, I know I am delusional 😁). Tornado warnings? Oh dear…I hope they give you a wide berth. We didn’t mean to coordinate…it just happened that way. Thanks, Suzanne 💕

  5. Bowser is beyond cute! He is a little person in a fur coat. The trails were a dog’s delight. Darn about the captioning. Your hat seems perfect, Deb. Do you know the make of it? I began wearing hats last Summer ‘after’ our trip to Bamfield on The Lady Rose. I almost (or did) get heat stroke on that day and I was scolded by my friend and husband. Something about ‘teaching an old dog new tricks….’ I could learn something from Bowser.😊 Always great to see you and Bowser here.💕

    1. The hat is one I picked up at Costco a number of years ago now. It’s Tilley-ish but not a Tilley (I have one of those too, and actually prefer this hat!). It’s called a Solar Escape. I’ve only lately taken to wearing hats so I feel ya, Erica! Better late than never, I guess 😁. Thanks 💕

Hi Deb – well you know one way or the other you have to take Bowser out – well perhaps you don’t have to – but he knows it falls to you! Soggy weather – hate it … but the tea is good afterwards?! Cheers Hilary

    1. Bowser doesn’t mind the soggy weather, and neither do I really…if properly dressed. Tea is very good afterwards, for removing any chill from my bones! Thanks, Hilary 💕

  7. Ah, rain. I wish we’d get some. As to photos — if you double click on it, there are several icons about what you want to do with it, and one of them is a caption.

His rain jacket is very cute. My god-dog is not a fan of waterproofs, and her parent has spent a literal fortune on finding one she will tolerate which is more of a water-resistant fleece. I told my friend that being matched with a dog who suited her personality would be a challenge (they’re both very strong minded 😀 )

  9. He’s such a good boy; taking himself (and you) for a wet walk. You deserved a hot tea or a glass of wine after that.
When Peanut gets near a wet area in our yard, I yell: “Stay out of the Mucky Muck or you’ll need a bath!”
Sometimes she listens, sometimes she gets a bath. 😜
