    1. I have a good feeling that all is going to go well, Janis😁. In a few weeks, you too will be listening to the crash of waves against Vancouver Island. Thanks 💕

  1. These photos bring back so many wonderful memories of visiting Ucluelet & surrounding area.💕 Well except for the massage, I didn’t do that but I think I should have!🤔

  2. Gorgeous views, Deb! We have not stayed at the Black Rock Resort. Years ago we stayed at Pacific Sands Resort and Long Beach Lodge Resort. After seeing your photos, Black Rock is on my list. In future I will talk with you in person on anything new you learned by staying there? Are there rooms with better views? Is the lounge food good or should we wait until Currents Restaurant opens up? We often bring our own food, yet it is fun to eat out. Uninterrupted bliss…….ahhhh ❤️

  3. Ahhh – thank you. I enjoyed this little virtual stop in Ucluelet. It’s where I saw my first whale many, many years ago. The next time I visit, we have to go back and spend some time on that trail. Gorgeous!

    1. Yes! Absolutely!!! I saw no whales (par for the course for me, as you know 😉) but I did see my first bear…on the side of the road as I drove by nice and safe in my vehicle 😁. Thanks, Joanne 💕

      1. Ahhh, I won’t tell Richard that you saw a bear. As you know, he is complete bear-repellent. When we were in Kelowna last week, there were bears reported on the street in front of our home (Butler) and on the railway tracks behind us. I’m pretty sure that they were sitting on our front porch as well. 😀 Now that we are back home — absolutely no showings – nada! Sigh!!

Hi Deb – what a stunning looking place – what a wonderful place for a break. Ucluelet is somewhere I’d have loved to have got to see … but didn’t sadly. The Raven wanting to join you … has indigenous connections. Emily Carr spent some time there … she also wrote about and painted the area. It looks amazing (fabulous photos) – and you obviously thrived with happiness – enjoy your coming visit in July – cheers Hilary

    1. Thank you, Hilary 💕 I only learned about the Emily Carr connection on this trip. There was an information board down by the Aquarium, showing some of her sketches of the area. I love seeing and hearing ravens. They are such cool birds. I also had several bald eagles fly past my deck during my stay. I’m looking forward to going back (and camping there this time) in late July.

Your lovely wave recordings on IG for your sister do likewise – such a joy. I don’t believe I’ve said thank you for sharing those with us.

    1. Thank you, Leslie 💕 It helps to know these posts are giving others what they need…it becomes a mission rather than an indulgence, then 😉 (It’s not for me…it’s for YOU that I do these things. Yeah, right 😏)

  5. Oh, this is wonderful. It’s also a great reminder for me to book a room with a bathtub and take all the fun things for a bath on my next vacation.

    1. The large soaking tub was a real treat! I have a pretty deep tub in my current apartment (compared to what is usually found), but this one was next level! Thanks, Akilah 💕

  6. The views are spectacular, especially from a nice soaking tub with a candle burning. I do hope there was a wine glass nearby as well. A 90 minute massage and facial; divine. You deserve it!

  7. What a stunningly gorgeous setting. Love all the photos but particularly the one with your feet in the bathtub looking at the view. That one REALLY speaks to me. Wondering where about this beautiful get away is located… I am assuming near you, but did I miss that somehow?

Talk about restoring one’s balance and energy. This is perfection.

  8. These photos are stunning and remind me very much of Crater Lake Oregon. As soon as it cools off enough to get out n’ about without melting I’m heading straight to a spa! Between your blog and IG, I feel like I’m on vacation with you! 😀
