Wordless Wednesday for February 2021

A Departure Bay Beach morning…

Plenty of bird action, and the sea lions were in fine voice this morning…
Sky colours reflected in the sea.
One of the big boats I saw in the distance.
Interesting clouds.
Sun just peeking over the land.
Sun fully up.
Look to the sky! Look to the sky!
Uh oh. And just like that, the clouds roll in…

Rock on,

The WB

  1. Beautiful sunrise! Nice Photos ๐Ÿ‘. We also just had a very colourful sunrise (alas I was working and could only glance and photos weren’t an option) and now the clouds here. Enjoy your day.

    1. You are most welcome, Ally ๐Ÿ’• These are indeed real views and I am so lucky to see them in person. I donโ€™t take any of these mornings (or days) for granted. And I hope I never do.

  2. Gorgeous photos! I think one of the most important skills of a photographer is to be a good observer. And thinking about how to photograph something reminds a person of the beauty of the landscapes all around us.

  3. Stellar, m’dear ~ stellar photos! Not being much of an early morning person I greatly admire your ability to function before dawn, to see and capture such exquisite images.
Thank you for all your early mornings, and for referencing iPhone Photography School. What I’ve seen thus far from them is concise, transfers to ipads, & is much appreciated! ๐Ÿ’•

Hi Deb – those are just wonderful photos – clear skies with pretty salmon pink clouds … it’s gorgeous – especially with the mainland in the distance. The sealions are fantastic aren’t they – loved seeing them and hearing down in Cowichan Bay … enjoy the coming of Spring – Hilary

Oh Deb, those colours, those gorgeous skies – you are doing great work in capturing them. Absolutely gorgeous photos – hard to believe they’re “just” smartphone shots.

Stunning photos as always, Deb. I miss seeing the sun over the water. The best I can do now I am landlocked is a lake. I should try and get some photos of that…

    1. Lakes are gorgeous too. I grew up spending summers at one of our Great Lakes, and always thought I would end up living beside a lake someday. My sister did just that, but it hasnโ€™t happened for me so far. The closest I have come is living across the street from a river. Thank you, AJ ๐Ÿ’•

  7. Hi Deb, I am glad I checked back through my email, since I saw your beautiful post a few days ago and I realize I had not commented. You captured stunning photos of the always unique Departure Bay skies. Great angle on the totem poles! It is difficult to show the three dimensional quality. Ahhhh, thank you for the breathe in……breathe out….๐Ÿ’•

  8. This blog is like a box of chocolates. Very true description. Tasty, classy colourful wrappers(photos), various delicious offering, some linger and some you just gobble up…
Did you think of your tagline before or after you had started this blog?

    1. Thank you, Monica ๐Ÿ’• These are not pictures of a lake, however. It is the Salish Sea (the part of the Pacific Ocean that surrounded the eastern side of Vancouver Island).

Here's where the magic happens. I love comments!
